We investigate how unmanned systems can scale from small unit operations to coordinated swarm formations capable of autonomous decision-making under dynamic conditions. Our research focuses on resilient networking, distributed control, and adaptive algorithms that enable large UxS collectives to operate effectively in contested or DDIL environments.

DFT examines the balance between payload capacity, survivability, and cost across unmanned platforms. By analyzing materials, modular designs, and mission profiles, we identify how affordability and endurance can be optimized without compromising capability—informing procurement, deployment, and sustainment decisions for emerging UxS fleets.

We look to enhance special operations forces (SOF) missions across alls domains. Our research focuses on multi-domain coordination, low-signature ISR, and autonomous support capabilities that extend SOF reach and agility. By integrating UxS into joint and cross-domain operations, we identify new pathways to improve precision, persistence, and survivability.

We study how unmanned systems shape and counter anti-access/area denial (A2AD) strategies at the regional level. Through analysis of distributed operations, sensor layering, and swarm-enabled deception, we evaluate how UxS can expand operational options and offset the advantages of heavily defended or surveillance-dominated environments.
